Snaps for Ginger: Benefits of Ginger Tea

Snaps for Ginger: Benefits of Ginger Tea

School has just started, the sun is blazing in Georgia, and winter break can't come soon enough.  With that said, as I type these very words my son is coughing up his 6-year-old little lungs.  And me? Well, I am sitting in isolation (not really) hoping that the cold and fever my coworker's daughter has doesn't make its way to my home.

According to John Hopkins Medicine, elementary school-aged children average six to eight colds a year and high school students average about half of that.

Feeling icky yet? No worries, I am here to help you prepare for the yuck fest that is back to school germs, with benefits I have GINGERLY researched ;-)

No kids? Don't worry, someone you work with has them and their viruses and infections like to vacation in adult environments too.

According to NDTV.com:

"Consuming ginger may help promote digestive health, nausea, bloating, morning sickness and heal pain. But, one of the most prominent benefits of ginger is its quality to fight cold, cough, and flu."

Studies have shown that ginger has anti-inflammatory (helps reduce the risk of sore throat) and antimicrobial (fights infection) properties.  While there was one study that showed that ginger helped the immune system kill viruses, I personally have to question that study.  I mean, who else to question medical research but a Georgia girl who sells coffee and tea online! ;-)

Since the world doesn't stop because we have caught a cold, relief is the best thing we can ask for.  At Great Mornings, we have made the ginger tea work easy for you with Citrus Ginger Tea DropsTurmeric Ginger Loose Leaf Tea, and Breathe Deep Loose Leaf Tea.

While cold and flu relief is a major benefit of ginger tea, ginger tea does offer other benefits for those who manage to fight a good fight against the germs of unwashed children's' hands.

Here are a few more amazing benefits of ginger tea*:

  • Improves blood circulation
  • Relief of menstrual discomfort
  • Strengthens immunity
  • Relief of stress

While fresh ginger is great, I base most of my life on what is easiest.  As a busy and at times lazy adult, convenience is the key to my limited success.  Uber Eats and delivered coffee/tea is essential to me surviving marriage, motherhood, and adulthood.

So here are a few more tips to help you enjoy the convenience of our ginger teas even more:

  1. For our loose leaf Breath Deep tea, invest in an infuser.
  2. While the Citrus Ginger Tea Drops don't require an infuser (just drop in hot water and stir), you can limit the sediment if it bothers you. If you still are holding on to your Keurig (no judgment), simply but the drop in a reusable pod and put it in the machine.  You will still get the delicious flavor with limited to no sediment.
  3. Add lemon, cinnamon, and raw honey to the Turmeric Ginger to help boost its relief benefits during cold season.

Now that you have made it to the end of this post, go ahead and place your tea order. Then go wash your hands, isolate yourself from all children and coworkers with kids, and wait for your survival pack.....I mean tea to arrive. Cheers!
