Studies have shown that ginger has anti-inflammatory (helps reduce the risk of sore throat) and antimicrobial (fights infection) properties.  While there was one study that showed that ginger helped the immune system kill viruses, I personally have to question that study.  I mean, who else to question medical research but a Georgia girl who sells coffee and tea online! *insert "duh," sarcastic facial expression*
